CNC punching
Computer numerically controlled (CNC) punching is a sheet metal manufacturing process that is carried out by CNC punch presses. The processing range for most CNC punch presses is 0.5mm to 6.0mm thick in a range of materials including steel, zintec, galv, stainless steel and aluminium.
METAL FORMING
metal forming, is the metalworking process of fashioning metal parts and objects through mechanical deformation; the workpiece is reshaped without adding or removing material, and its mass remains unchanged. Forming operates on the materials science principle of plastic deformation, where the physical shape of a material is permanently deformed.
INSERTING & WELDING
SMFL offers bench model and custom machinery for single point, multi-point or multi-plane thermal staking and inserting applications. Typical inserting applications include driving metal parts, such as a threaded brass insert, into a hollow boss opening. Typical staking applications include forming a solid boss into a rivet type head to capture or retain a secondary part.
